Life Lessons

I have never been a fan of chain messages or letters. Especially those that threaten one to share the contents with a certain number of people in a given span of time in order to escape a tragedy of some sort. Back in the day though, I used to get a couple of chills down my spine when I received such. And this forced me to quickly search my contacts for a list of ten - twenty people to forward the message to (depending on the requirements) so as to escape the big evil that would come to pass should I break the chain!

So there was a time I fell short of the requirements but when the stipulated time frame ended and all was well, I stopped caring! Such letters together with their curses and threats never got me perturbed me anymore. Or maybe that’s the reason I never grew taller?? Anyway, I believe my height is a blessing and I will stick with that! Hehe!

However, once in a while I come across those messages that are just wonderful and inspiring (read: no threats). And as much as I know they have been forwarded to a number of people already, I sometimes feel obliged to also pass it on because who knows just how insightful it might be to the next person. Plus I only forward to the people in my “will not be bothered by this freakishly long message” list. You gotta have one of those lists…very important.

Sometime back I received one titled ‘Life Lessons’ which I thought I should share with you today. Mass forwarding, LOL! It was written by Regina Brett, a 90 year old woman from Cleveland, Ohio. She wrote 45 lessons that lessons that life taught her and up to date, it is one of her most requested columns.

I believe we should all live by those lessons. They don’t get any better and real than that! So here they are: {Hope you read to the end}
