Technovation Challenge Local Awards

Yesterday, all roads led to the Michael Joseph Centre for the Technovation Challenge Local Awards. If you have been keeping up with my posts, (LOL, almost said ‘the Kardashians’), then you will know what exactly I am talking about. If not, see here and here and probably here too.

After an intense 12 week program, it was finally nice to see the competition culminate in a beautiful ceremony which saw teachers, journalists, business guys, varsity students, +Akili Dada mentors and high school pupils in attendance.

Time’s Up, Pencils Down!

If this phrase is not familiar to you, then I don’t know which part of the universe you are from! But most importantly, I would love to relocate there. So can you please give me the directions?

Hehe, I am saying that because of all the emotions that one usually experiences when those words are uttered; feeling like there is much more you should do or add has to be the worst! Conversely, there are those good days where one can’t wait to hear them since they symbolize the end of that particular activity and hopefully the beginning of a better one. Especially if it is a Friday!!

Map Your World {Part II}

Hey people! You good? Hehe, I was having a bit of a writers' block earlier this morning (I have been getting too many of those recently!!) but seeing that you are already reading this post, it means I managed to overcome it...Or at least I think I did!

This past Saturday was very eventful for me. I had the Google Mapping event and still had to attend to my girls in Mary Hill Girls' High School in the afternoon for the Technovation Challenge (See here, here and here). I really had to manage my time well so as to deliver on both ends.

Int’l Women’s Day: Technovation Challenge

I have even lost count of the Technovation Challenge day we are on!! But if my memory serves me right, it should be the third one. Coincidentally, that Saturday also happened to be International Women’s Day. So, that I got to spend it with the lovely ladies of Mary Hill Girls’ High School.

Btw, there were so many other activities slotted for that day and as much as I would have loved to take part in all of them, there is only one of me. Darnit! There was the GDG Women’s meet up at +iHub which I was invited to. There was also an +Akili Dada walk in Karura Forest. Apart from that, there was the Intel Galileo fest on campus and I was super psyched for it (Hehe, the promise of free food might have had something to do with that!)

Day Two #TechnovationHackDay

Hey there guys! How you doin’? Hope all is well. I on the other hand, I’m swarmed with so much to do and so little time hence the stall in my posts. But I really wanted to check in at least for the first post of the month and fill you in on what went down this past weekend. The post is just going to be somewhat on the short end nonetheless I will try to keep it sweet :)

I have been keeping you in the loop about this new +Akili Dada mentoring project that I took on. But if should this be the first time you are dropping by (first of all welcome) and find the previous posts here and here.

Kicking Off The Technovation Challenge! {Day One}

This Saturday marked our first day of the Technovation Challenge in our respective schools. I told ya’ll in this post that I would be keeping you up to date over the entire 12 weeks so here I am…a man of my words, hehe!

To say I had a confused morning that day would be an understatement. For starters, I was finding it really hard to detach myself from my warm and cozy bed. I am always an early riser but for some reason, I just couldn’t stop the relationship that my upper eyelids had forged with the lower ones! I finally decided to wake up after losing count of the number of times I had snoozed my alarm. Boy, wasn’t that hard!

Technovation Challenge

I am turning out to be one hell of a busy bee nowadays ey? Why, you might ask…Well, my weekends are now being fully booked by new and exciting events and activities which I am more than happy to take part in. And the second Saturday of this month was no different!

I was to make my way to Riara Corporate Suites where there the +Akili Dada offices are. Purpose…the Technovation Challenge!! Before I delve in further on why I was there, a brief introduction to what this challenge is all about would be fit…don’t you think?
