Grace Hopper Conference {Google Travel Grant 2014}

Those who have been keeping tabs on all my blog posts know that this is not the first time I am talking about the Grace Hopper Travel Grant. The other time was last year and you can see that post here.

Well, the opportunity is presenting itself again this year and I thought I should briefly let ya’ll know in case you would be interested in applying. Or to remind you just in case you knew about it but had sorta forgotten. Again, sorry fellas…this is just for the ladies!

This prospect is part of Google’s ongoing commitment to increase the number of women in engineering. The conference will be taking place in Phoenix, Arizona from October 8^th – 10^th, 2014. It is an event that will offer incredible opportunities for mentoring, networking and career development.

It is open to female university students and industry professionals excelling in Computer Science. So if you feel like this is for you, please apply by completing this form {US or Canada} or this form {EMEA} by July 15^th, 2014. The Grace Hopper Travel Sponsorship winners will be announced in the week of August 4^th, 2014.

My mama always told me that it never hurts to try! Therefore, I suggest you go at it! And who knows, you just might be enjoying the round trip flight to Phoenix, AZ, arranged hotel accommodation from October 7^th – 11^th, an enlightening conference and a fun social event with your fellow travel scholar recipients on one of the evenings of the conference!
